Happy Hump Day frands!

Today’s post is super exciting for me because I’m talking about 2 of my favorite things (other than food): fitness and fashion with Finishline! Clearly I love all words that start with F.

I’ve been on the look out for some new training shoes and I found “the ones.” Seriously, I had a Cinderella moment when I tried these Under Armour Gemini’s on. I’ve never said this about a shoe before …but these ARE THE MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES I’ve ever tried on. Exaggeration, I think not. If you scroll down below the workout….I’ll share the reasons why these shoes rock my world.

But first…let me take a selfie.

Just kidding…let me tell you about this workout!

It’s very Crossfit/WOD-inspired and mixes sprints with strength. It’s a race against the clock to see how fast you can finish it in! I did a VERY similar workout to this one last week and it took me 13:15 to complete it. Make sure you do a proper warm-up like this one and as always- modify as needed!

Mix sprints and strength for a quick, yet efficient workout that can be done anywhere, anytime!

Interval Speed Workout

Complete the following workout as fast as you can. Feel free to use a treadmill or do this outside. All of the strength exercises can be done with or without weights, just make sure you honor your body.

– Sprint 1/4 mile –

30 walking lunges (15 on each leg): Begin standing feet hip-width distance apart. Step forward with your left leg and lower down into a lunge keeping your shoulders back, chest lifted, and front knee over ankle. On the exhale step forward with the other leg and lower down into a lunge. Repeat 30 times (15 on each side).

– Sprint 1/4 mile –

30 Tuck Jumps (or Box Jumps): Begin standing feet hip-width distance apart. Explode off the ground jumping up, pulling knees into your chest . Repeat 30 times.

– Sprint 1/4 mile –

30 Jump Lunge-to-Squat-to-Lunch (15 on each leg): Begin in a split stance with your right leg in front of your left leg. Lower down into a 90/90 lunge, keeping your chest lifted and front knee over ankle. Explode up into a squat, keeping the weight in your heels and your chest lifted. Explode into a 90/90 lunge on your other leg, keeping your chest lifted and front knee over ankle. Explode up into a squat, keeping the weight in your heels and your chest lifted. (*Note: it’s a jump lunge, into a jump squat, into a jump lunge. 1 rep is lunge + squat on one side. So left lunge + squat + right lunge + squat = 2 reps).
