Brownie Batter Oats and Vanilla Protein Frosting
Guess what yesterday was? My last first day of school EVER (if I don’t end up going to grad school). Yes, how weird is that? This pas week I have been dreading going back to school. I love to learn, but its been 16 years of learning and I think I’m ready to learn about the real world!
I do enjoy going to the first day of class though. You get your syllabus, you get to check out who else is in your class, you meet your professor, see if there’s any cute boys…yah know. It’s not so bad. This semester I only have 11 credits, 1 shy of “full time status.” I’m taking:
- Corporate Wellness
- Design Minor Seminar Class
- Modern Latin America
- Sociology of Sexuality
An interesting bunch of classes, no? I still needed to cover a few liberal arts credits, hence the schmorgusbordu of topics. I am rather intrigued by Sociology of Sexuality. It was a late pick up, but I am hoping for an interesting class!
On to more important matters…Oatmeal. (haha, but for real).
One of my favorite things to eat post strength training workout, is PROTEIN FROSTING! You literally mix protein powder and milk (I used almond). I usually eat it plain, but the other day I topped it on some Brownie Batter Oats. I love the mixture of hot and cold. nomm.
Brownie Batter Oats
Ingredients
-1/3C quick cooking oats
-1T cocoa powder
-1C water or milk
-2 packets of stevia
I used the stovetop method of making my oats, but the microwave works too!
Vanilla Protein Frosting
Ingredients
-1/2 School of Vanilla Protein Powder
~2T milk
Whisk together vanilla pp and milk.
I haven’t had my brownie batter oats in a long time! It was a nice change up from my normal, plain oats
Guess what else I did yesterday? Taught another community Yoga Sculpt Class! This time there were about 8 of us who split the class, so I only got to teach Sun B. Things went great
I also completed my last part of training! I am officially ready to teach Yoga Sculpt everywhere and anywhere. In order to instruct at a Corepower studio, I have to audition in front of all of the regional managers (about 20 people). From there, I either get an offer from one of the studios or not. We were told that there isn’t a huge need for teachers at the moment, and that it might be a good idea to wait a month before auditioning. ARG! I am in a pickle. I was planning on auditioning the next round, but I don’t want to risk not getting a spot just because there isn’t a need currently. The downfall of not getting a spot, is that you have to wait 3 months before you can audition again. You see, there are only a certain amount of audition spots open. There may be 50 people who are eligible to audition (between all of the different trainings: vinyasa, hot, sculpt, etc), but only 10 audition spots open. Hmmm, what to do, what to do!
I think my next step should be approaching other gyms and personal fitness studios. The more I teach the better I get! I do have one question that maybe one of you can answer…because I have my Yoga Sculpt certificate, am still eligible to teach at a gym/studio without a group fitness or personal training certification (contingent upon me getting yoga insurance)?
Anyways, last night when I got home I whipped up one of my old favorites: Banana Soft Serve!
It’s been oh so long! But, I had a frozen nanner that just sounded so good after a hot yoga class.
Banana Soft Serve
Ingredients
-1 frozen banana
-2T almond milk
Method
Whirl together in a small food processor until it becomes fluffy.
YUMM. I need to start making this more often.
Because I have my Yoga Sculpt certification, do you know if I am still eligible to teach at a gym/studio without a group fitness or personal training certification (contingent upon me getting yoga insurance)?
