healthy dessert shooters

I am totally that person that “needs something sweet after dinner.” No, I don’t actually need it, but I’ve wired my brain to “need” it. I’d love to eat a huge bowl of ice cream every single day, because that is my guilty pleasure. However- ice cream and other high-sugar desserts doen’t make me feel the greatest, so try (key word) and keep those to special occasions.

These shooters are the perfect amount of sweet for me and definitely satisfy my after dinner sweet tooth!

The nice thing about these shooters, is that you’re almost guaranteed to have all of the ingredients on hand: Greek yogurt + berries + granola. Any flavor of each ingredient works…options are endless!

Healthy Dessert Shooters

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c nonfat greek yogurt (I use plain + a little bit of honey)
  • 1/4 c homemade granola, I used Apricot Coconut Granola (or store bought granola – My favorite is Healthy Grains)
  • 1/4 blackberries

Method
In a small cup or jar, layer each ingredient twice. EAT.

A little secret about this cup…it’s actually a beer flight cup. Can you believe Target was selling these little glass cups in the dollar section? SCORE! I’ll take 2.

2 questions for you: 1. What is your guilty pleasure dessert? 2. What is your favorite healthy dessert?

I actually wrote this post about a week ago and in that time something really out of the blue happened. I got a call from SHARK TANK. Yes, THE Shark Tank on ABC. About 8 months ago there was a Shark Tank marathon on and I watched like 4 episodes in a row. It sparked me to do something very in the moment and spontaneous (very unlike me) and submit an idea.

I never ever thought I would get a call back from them let alone the chance to move on to the video submission round. I have 1-2 weeks to hit about 15 points in a 5 minute video that I have to send to ABC as the second part of my submission.

I bet you are dying to find out what I pitched. It’s funny because I had to search through my sent mail to find out what exactly I pitched because it was so long ago. I actually pitched my Energy Balls as a product idea because at the time, that’s when I was going crazy with those recipes. If you are a new FFF reader…here’s what I am referring to…

So where am I on the freaking out scale? pretty much an 11 out of 10. First of all, I know the first question the Sharks would ask me is how many balls have you sold and how much money have you made off them?

That’s the catch, I don’t have a current Energy Ball business. I look at my business (or potential) as the brand I have created: Fit Foodie Finds. The way I make money is through AdRev…by driving more people to my site through the content I create. To take Fit Foodie to the next level, I would create a product line of energy balls. These would be manufactured and sold on my website. A lot more would go into the this proposal, as well as money. Once I nail things down I will definitely share them with you in a more organized manner

I have an entrepreneurial spirit and have always wanted to be a small business owner. But- if I ever did get on Shark Tank, I know I would need a twist. Do I sell a product or do I sell a brand. I could talk your ear off about this whole thing…so here I am. I guess I just wanted to give you guys a heads up! A lot of you have been readers for a really long time and without you, I never would have submitted an idea.

All in all- I don’t really care if I get on the show or not. I just think it is an honor to be recognized with a potential good business idea.

That is all Happy Friday!
