Apple Nachos

Looking for a healthy, kid-friendly snack idea? Slice up some apples and dress them up with nut butter, honey, seeds, and dried fruit to make apple nachos!

This recipe brought me back to the good ol’ days of after school snacks. Once a snacker, always a snacker. I remember getting off the bus, or home from soccer practice just famished. It was like I didn’t eat for the past 8 hours.

Apples and peanut butter was my all time favorite. At the time is was more like an apple and half a jar of peanut butter. Who am I kidding, I’m still the same way with nut butter 😛 Freals. It’s the perfect snack!

They always say- don’t play with your food, it’s rude.

But I say- play with your food…it’s fun! Especially when you can make cool artwork out of it AND get to eat your masterpiece.

This recipe is 100% customizable. I used….

  • almond butter
  • dairy-free chocolate chips
  • honey
  • hemp seeds
  • goji berries

BUT- any kind of topping works!

Basic Ingredients for Apple Nachos

  • 3 large apples, thinly sliced
  • 2-3 tablespoons melted nut butter (I used almond butter)
  • 1-2 tablespoons raw honey
  • ¼ cup mini dairy-free chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons hemp hearts
  • ¼ cup goji berries/raisins

How to make Apple Nachos

  1. First, thinly slice your apples and lay them out on a large plate, overlapping each other.
  2. Then, top them with you favorite things!
